The UK 200 Group
The UK200Group was founded in 1986 as a mutual association of progressive minded firms of Chartered Accountants in the United Kingdom. Since then, membership of the Group has been extended to lawyer firms and now has some 110 well established firms with over 700 partners, 7,000 staff and over 135,000 clients.
The objectives of the Group are:-
- To be recognised within the professions and the commercial world as the foremost mutual association of independent quality assured professionals serving the SME business sector.
- To continually improve the standards and performance of member firms.
- To create influence within the commercial world for the benefit of member firms.
A substantial international resource is available to member firms and clients alike via its International Associates and its membership of the International Association of Practising Accountants (IAPA). This membership covers all of the strategic business areas of the world via firms of Chartered Accountants, CPAs and other internationally recognised accounting bodies.
Annual membership of the UK200Group involves a rigorous independent annual review which covers most areas of professional work, including tax procedures and controls, accounts preparation, audit work and insolvency.
The UK200Group has developed specialist trade groups which enable members to provide a higher level of service. The Charities group, the Healthcare group and the Legal group have made great strides in providing real benefits for members to pass on to their clients in these particular sectors.
