Children's Cancer Run – 8 May 2011 Well done to Steph Reardon (42 mins) and Sue Lowes (49 mins) and their families who completed the run despite the thunder storm and heavy rain (without any injuries). Thank you to all staff who sponsored them and raised the fantastic sum of £165 and a special thank you to Steph's nieces Erin and Paige who raised an additional £147. |

British Heart Foundation Through staff donations of books for sale at the British Heart Foundation shop in Newcastle the charity have raised nearly £150. |

Fantasy Share Competition – Central Newcastle High School Following the success of last year's competition, entries for this year have been received from Year 12 and Year 13 students. Once again students have the opportunity to invest up to £100,000 in shares on the stock exchange and the winners will be the student from each year who makes the best return on her investments.

Shoe Boxes for the Homeless Staff are supporting the shoe boxes for the homeless that use the People's Kitchen this Christmas. Boxes for both men and women will include items such as socks/tights, scarf/gloves, underwear, chocolate/sweets and a bag for all the items to be placed into when the person leaves the centre after their Christmas lunch. |

Race For Life Four members of staff (Susan Brown, Ally Casey, Nicola Craggs and Sylvia Herczeg) took part in the Race for Life on the Town Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne and raised the magnificent sum of £718. |

Great North Run Graham Purvis and Martin Wardle ran in support of the Anthony Nolan Trust and raised £640. Amy Park ran to support Help for Heroes and Meningitis Trust and raised £390. Graham, Martin and Amy would like to thank family, friends and work colleagues for their generous support. |

Marie Curie 'Blooming Great Tea Party' A choice of delicious cakes were sold which raised a total of £45. |

Macmillan Coffee Morning A total of £295 was raised at this event. Staff donated some fantastic prizes for the raffle/tombola and the buffet was delicious. Our total funds raised from September 2009 to date for Macmillan now stands at £1220. |
