We want to make you aware of some changes regarding HMRC’s VAT Portal. HMRC have confirmed that from 14 February 2018, the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) will be decommissioned and the existing services will be migrated to a new platform.  All electronic returns must be made via this new end point. 

What does this mean for you?

To accommodate the changes, you will need to ensure that you have compatible software which will enable you to make the necessary VAT submissions to HMRC.

Your current accounting software provider may be writing to you soon with details of how to get an upgrade on your current package with the likely accompanying hike in price.

With that in mind, we think now is the time to consider your options in terms of accounting software and what is available in the marketplace in line with what you actually want and need from your software.
