At Robson Laidler, we want you to get to know us better!

Today, we ask Head of Marketing at Robson Laidler Gemma Graham 10 Questions about herself.

How long have you been with Robson Laidler?

6 wonderful years!

What is your favourite thing about working for Robson Laidler?

The directors are very supportive and encouraging and there are lots of opportunities to shape your role and career into exactly how you want it to be. You are the master of your own destiny and if you work hard, you will be rewarded. We also have a very friendly culture, there’s always a nice buzz around the place.

What’s the one piece of marketing advice you would give to a business?

The key is clarity. If you haven’t identified what your customer wants, what problem you’re helping them solve and what life will look like after they engage with your product or service, you won’t thrive. Confuse you lose.

What is your favourite film?

I cannot choose just one! The Green Mile or A Star is Born. Or when I’m with the kids, Grease or Beauty and the Beast.

What is your favourite book?

Classic from my A Level days – Emily Bronte Wuthering Heights.

Who is your favourite music artist/group?

Don’t really have a favourite. I like all music genres. My Dad was in a pop rock band when he was younger, which makes me appreciate that sound, but I also love soulful stuff – anything from Motown, R&B and also Dance. I love live music though and nothing beats watching a band in a crowded venue with good friends.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

My happy place is Blyth beach where I live. Just a chilled walk, fresh air, toe dip in the sea, funny chats with my little people, and ice cream.

I also like to get out and run when I can and I already have lots of runs lined up this year including the International Women’s Day 5k and the Colour Obstacle Rush in June.

If you could have a superpower, what would you choose?

To fly to heaven and speak to my Dad.

Tell us something about you that nobody knows?

I have jumped 15,000ft from the ground out of an aeroplane for charity. I enjoy different adventurous experiences, especially when it’s for charity. We do a lot of CSR activities at Robson Laidler too and are soon to launch our own charitable foundation.

And finally… Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Robson Laidler will be the go-to accountancy firm for businesses who are ready to take the next level. My marketing team will have grown substantially, and we will be a bigger and even more successful business with a variety of different services. It would be great to have our marketing coaching services fully established by then.

At home, I just hope myself and my family continue to be healthy, happy and content.
