“We are a not-for-profit law firm providing specialist legal advice to at-risk groups across the North East.
Robson Laidler came to work with us early last year, following an introduction to Dan Adamson through our HR consultant. We were looking for an independent facilitator to support our annual planning day – someone with a strong understanding of our sector and a proven track record of delivering effective, engaging strategy sessions.
Our main concern at the outset was how the facilitator would engage with both staff and trustees, and whether they would quickly understand the nuances of our organisation and the environment we operate in. Dan addressed this by spending time with me and our Chair in advance, carefully scoping the session and ensuring the day was tailored to our needs.
On the day itself, Dan brought extensive sector knowledge, clear experience of facilitating planning days, and excellent interpersonal skills. The session was well-structured, inclusive and well received by everyone involved.
The outcome report from the session has provided a strong foundation for refreshing our strategic plan. While the final update is still being completed due to competing priorities, most of the recommendations and outcomes from the day have already been implemented.
