“Your quick communications have made all the difference to me”
This is just a token of my appreciation for sorting out everything I have needed over the past year – particularly the recent pensions allowance payment. It has been a really stressful time & your quick communications have made all the difference to me.
“Set me up very well for later life”
I have been with Robson Laidler for more than a decade now and have benefited greatly from Neil Cowie’s advice. At the beginning, I knew that my financial circumstances were going to change fairly soon as a result of inheritance. I had no experience in dealing with large sums of money and it was important to me I made the most of anything I inherited. I needed help in respect of long-term investments and pensions. Neil was of great assistance to me in both these areas. He grasped at once that I wanted sound long-term vehicles rather than a quick buck and that future income was going to be more important to me than immediate large capital sums. Ten years on, and now retired, I can say that the plans Neil put in place for me look to have set me up very well for later life. Without the support I have had from Robson Laidler I would have had no idea what to do.

“They make complex jargon simple.”
Having left the Royal Navy and moving straight to a large corporation my pension needs and advice were previously minimal. However, going self employed it’s a very different story. I quickly realised, I needed help and didn’t have time or resources to spend getting myself up to speed on legislation and the vast amount of pensions available. I needed someone ( a company) who gets me, my situation, my company’s needs and most importantly who I can have a working relationship with. With that in mind, I find Robson Laidler Wealth offered me this in bucket loads. They make the complex jargon simple. They inform you when needed and don’t sell. They are there when needed. This freed up my time, allowing me to concentrate on my Company. It makes me feel comfortable, as I know when advice is given it’s informative, in plain English, not biased and dangers are highlighted…it is fact. So when you ultimately make a decision it’s the best advice, always with a caveat that nothing is guaranteed but with Robson Laidler Wealth you have a better chance.

“Honest and realistic views.”
I decided I needed financial advice over fifteen years ago so l could plan my retirement and plan for the future. I wanted an experienced professional at the helm that l fully trusted and understood my circumstances and had honest and realistic views on what was achievable. Neil Cowie was excellent in the management of my Pension portfolio and working out the income l would require to live on. He also set up a solid safe platform for my investments, together with good advice on possible inheritance tax implications. His continued management is enabling me to enjoy a wonderful retirement with the comfort and security that our family finances are in such trusted hands.

“Accessible, responsive, and quick to advise.”
I have been a client of Robson Laidler for a number of years and value the help, expertise and skill that they apply to my finances. As an architect, I am constantly advising clients that good advice is worth every penny and will save you time, energy and cost. I therefore only use professionals that follow the same principles when I need expert advice myself.
Amanda Cowie and her team allow me to work hard in my career and have the confidence to support me with up to date financial assistance across the spectrum of personal and business investments. They are accessible, responsive and quick to advise whenever I call. No question is too small and that gives me a huge reassurance.

“Helped me make informed decisions.”
I am a GP in my mid 50’s and have realised that retirement is on the horizon. Whilst I have always understood that the NHS pension is a generous one, and have made one or two other investments along the way, I am now in a position to try and tie it all together into a retirement “package”. I confess that my financial understanding has been scanty, hence the reason I contacted Amanda Cowie at Robson Laidler Wealth for some clarification of the best way forward. Amanda has spent a lot of time gathering information and working out various scenarios and options to help me make informed choices about my retirement. She has pitched it at a level that I understand and has clarified issues that I don’t. She has been quick to respond to my questions and through her patience and approachability, I feel able to trust her advice about retirement and investments in the future.

“Excellent service”
I’m so thankful for RL Wealth organising the release of funds for my solicitor. I was amazed at how quickly the money came through. I can’t thank them enough for the excellent service they have given me.
-David Clayton
“Straight, with honest advice.”

“I feel I have control over my life again.”
Thank you for the meeting, the session was fab and I have received the Wealth Plan incorporating the NHS Pension Analysis.
It is so interesting , complex and mind blowing but it really does give us a good idea and it is incredibly helpful also. It is so good to look ahead and knowing what you might expect with various scenarios, I feel I have control over my life again. Very therapeutic.
I know there are lots of assumptions but the reality cannot be far from this. Upwards or downwards.
Lots of food for thought. I am glad there is somebody like you and your firm who can actually understand this minefield and labyrinth, impenetrable to me and to all my colleagues I know.
-Dr Jiri Dolezal, Fenham Hall Medical Group
Not only do you know how important it is to plan, but you recognise how important it is to work with a Chartered Financial Planner.
We know our stuff, and we’re committed to helping you. That’s why we always focus on creating your plan first before implementing the ideal solution.
Independent research confirms that individuals who work with a trusted adviser are more likely to achieve better investment returns, lower overall taxes and to prevent expensive mistakes.
We start with you: where you are now, where you want to be in the future and the questions and concerns you have about getting there.
Once we understand this we work together with you to build your initial plan. This will include various life-stages ahead, such as your ideal retirement age, when you may look to sell your business, your children’s future and so on.
We will then get together regularly with you to review and update your progress towards achieving your goals.
I've been an Independent Financial Advisor for over 20 years and specialise in retirement and investment planning. It’s my job to help our clients see their financial future and allow them to make life changing decisions, whether it be bringing forward their retirement or planning a special holiday.
My clients often comment on how I explain the complex in a simple manner. Often, they have several questions around retirement and investing, and I try to educate and help them to ignore the constant bombardment of investment “news.”
Outside of work, you’ll find me practicing my golf swing or eating out. I’m also a member of our local church.
It’s my job to help my clients and their families get what they want out of life. This often means I’m talking to them about their financial future and taking away the anxiety and mystery of investing, which enables them to make key decisions and have financial peace of mind.
One thing I love is when they can really see the end goal after chatting to us – that’s a great day at the office! It’s what I’m really passionate about: Financial education. There are so many negative headlines out there which can cause lots of anxiety and stress and I help give our clients clarity about their financial future.
When I’m not doing that, I’m trying to bring financial education to people around me, whether that’s running community courses helping people budget or going into local schools to talk about minimising student debt.
What’s your goal for the future: Like most of the clients we deal with, my goals are similar to their own. To continue to enjoy my work and try and maintain a good balance between work and family life. For us all to be healthy as a family and for my husband and I to be able to maintain our current lifestyle in retirement.
As a small firm we deal with a multitude of client enquiries and my background in Financial Services means I’m able to answer these questions, ranging from investment valuations to paraplanning. I’m often assisting our Financial Planners with their research, supporting them to help our clients plan for their future.
As well as that, I manage the Robson Laidler Wealth administration team, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the business run smoothly. I also assist our directors in putting in place effective methods to offer our clients the most comprehensive advice and the best client service.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and my little dog, as well as cooking, eating and travelling.
What's your goal for the future: To work hard, stay focused, be healthy, happy and have a lifetime of fulfilment.

Outside of work I am a keen runner and have completed the Great North Run several times I also enjoy traveling and visiting new places.
Goal for the future? I want to build my knowledge and look for further industry related qualifications. My personal life goal is for my children to be happy and successful!
My role as a Wealth Administrator is hugely varied from processing client transactions, preparing documentation for our advisors and liaising with providers and clients.
I have worked as a Financial Services Administrator for over 25 years both in large insurance companies and smaller IFA firms. I enjoy being employed in a smaller firm where I can personally get to know our clients and develop good working relationships with them.

Goal for the future? To continue making memories that my daughters will cherish and to continue enjoying life to the max.
As wealth administrator, my role includes daily correspondence with clients, processing new business, and ensuring that our clients receive the highest standard of care and support. What motivates me most in my job is the ability to go above and beyond for our clients, ensuring they receive outstanding service. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my efforts are appreciated and that I am making a positive impact in their financial journeys.
Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle, I enjoy hitting the gym and going for runs. I also love socialising with my friends and family.

As a paraplanner, I support our financial advisers by facilitating the advice they provide. This includes managing pension and investment transfers and conducting product and fund research.
I graduated from Newcastle University in 2021 with a degree in History and Philosophy and began my career in finance shortly after. I now have a CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and particularly enjoy researching and assisting with complex products such as SSAS, EIS, and AIM.
What I enjoy most about my job is researching the variety of client plans that have emerged due to numerous legislative changes. Investigating these plans helps expand my knowledge of the financial services industry and allows us to continuously improve our services, helping clients achieve their financial objectives.
Outside of work, I am an avid fan of Newcastle United and Gateshead FC, often attending games or watching them on TV. I also enjoy going to music festivals and concerts.
What’s your goal for the future:

Having worked in a paraplanning role for almost a decade, I have achieved an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and am now pursuing my dream of becoming a financial planner.
When speaking to clients, I enjoy exploring various aspects of their finances, including investing, taxes, savings, retirement, estates, and insurance. My goal is to create tailored financial plans that help them achieve their long-term financial objectives.
I believe financial planning should be accessible and empowering. I strive to develop personalised strategies that reflect my clients’ needs and aspirations. What I enjoy most about my job is the pride I take in alleviating my clients’ financial concerns by educating them about financial wellbeing and the behavioural aspects of investing.
When I’m not helping people with their finances, you’ll find me hiking and wild-camping. I reserve Thursday nights for 5--aside football, always followed by some post-game socialising.
What’s your goal for the future: I hope to live a happy and fulfilling life and want to empower my clients to do the same. Life is a collection of your memories and I want to make as many of these as possible.
