Today, we ask Michael Johnstone-Clement from our Audit Department 10 Questions…
How long have you been with Robson Laidler?
Since 19th July 2021.
What is your current role at Robson Laidler?
Audit Junior.
What is your favourite thing about working for Robson Laidler?
I enjoy the challenges that work and exams bring but also think staff are great in keeping a positive attitude and reassuring me when I am struggling with work.
What is your favourite film?
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Gladiator, Braveheart, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
What is your favourite book?
1984 or The Hobbit.
Who is your favourite music artist/group?
The Cure, The Prodigy, Metallica, Tupac, could go on forever.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy travelling and have a life goal of ticking off a long list of countries around the world. Also love music and attend many festivals. Enjoy mountaineering and spend many weekends at the lake district etc. Also a massive MMA fan and enjoy watching it on weekends when it is on.
If you could have a superpower, what would you choose?
The ability to travel through time and alter things whilst doing it. I’d love to meet family I never had the chance to and also different historical figures, both in the past and future
What is something that nobody knows about you?
If I told you, somebody would know. In fact, if nobody knew, then I wouldn’t know, so I don’t know either. Serious note, my first job was running the mechanical bull in Sam Jacks nightclub.
And finally… Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In an ideal world, 10 years from now I would be; fully qualified Chartered Accountant, super confident and happy in my job role, with the ability to help both clients and junior staff just starting. I also hope to go in to buying and renting/selling property, having bought my first place this year and hopefully expanding in a few years.. Hopefully will have a few kids by that time. Also want to take up BJJ, if I started now/soon, I may be a black belt by 10 years so who knows.
